The Land Development Engineering Group (LDEG) Forum is an opportunity for sector professionals from across New Zealand to connect, learn and advance land development practice.

Across Aotearoa New Zealand, land development professionals are navigating a landscape defined by uncertainty with shifting legislation, the transition to new resource management systems, the establishment of new entities, and evolving expectations for natural hazard management and climate resilience. These pressures are reshaping how we plan, design, and deliver development.

At the same time, the demand for growth continues to intensify. We are being asked to enable housing and infrastructure on land increasingly constrained by topography, natural hazards, network capacity, and the cumulative impacts of climate change. The tension between facilitating development and safeguarding communities has never been more pronounced.

This forum invites us to rethink how we identify and manage risk, through policy, approvals and in the field.

There is no better place to do this than Napier/ Hastings as the area recovers from significant flooding events, Plan changes and insurance constraints while maintaining significant growth.

What to expect:
Day 1: Keynote and technical presentations and interactive workshops (details to come)
Day 2: Field trip - local site tours (details to come)
